Who Is Eligible For Awards

Awards can be used by the JMB member and the following relatives.

Reminders When Exchanging Mileage for Awards

  • JMB members may not combine their mileage in order to receive awards.
    Mileage accumulated in other companies' mileage programs cannot be combined with JMB mileage in order to receive awards.
  • Awards issued for children and infants require the same mileage as those issued for adults.
    Infants may possess either (1) a mileage award ticket, or (2) an infant-fare ticket based on the same class of service as that which is to be utilized by the adults traveling with the infant, or (3) an infant-fare ticket based on a lower class of service plus an upgrade certificate. Infants traveling on mileage award tickets will occupy their own seat. Infants traveling on infant-fare tickets will not occupy their own seat.
  • Check your mileage balance.
    Please make sure that you have the required number of miles at the time you request an award. You cannot request an award if you do not have the required mileage.
  • Taxes and fees.
    Miscellaneous taxes and fees, such as airport taxes, airport facility charges/security charges or surcharge necessary for award travel are the responsibility of the member or traveler. These must be paid in advance by member's credit card.
  • Your reservation must be confirmed.
    Award tickets, upgrade awards and hotel awards require confirmed reservation. The award will not be issued until your reservation has been confirmed. Once the reservation is confirmed, the award application will be completed by deducting the necessary miles from your JMB account and issuing the award.
    Waitlists are not permitted for Japan domestic flight sectors of JAL Group Airlines and JMB partner airlines' flight sectors.
  • Mileage refunds.
    Once redeemed, mileage cannot be refunded to your account or used in exchange for a different award even if the award is completely unused. Deducted mileage from member's account can only be refunded by using the "Mileage Reinstatememt Service for Unused Awards".

How to Request Award

Awards can only be requested, issued, and received in the American Region.
The member himself/herself must request the Awards regardless of who uses those Awards.
However, members who wish to entrust another person to do so should register an official proxy to JMB Center. To register, login and proceed by clicking [Proxy Registration/ Change/ Cancellation].
* Award application cannot be made at JAL ticket offices, JAL airport counters or JMB Centers in other regions.

JAL Group Domestic Award Tickets From 09:30 (Japan time) 2 months prior to the date of flight departure through 4 days prior to the departure date(*2).
JAL Group International Upgrade Awards By 12:00 noon Pacific Time(*3) the day prior to departure(*5)
Hotel Awards 14 days prior to the date of check-in
JAL Coupon Award 2 weeks required to deliver from the request date(*6)
Other Awards 2 weeks required to deliver from the request date(*6)

(*1) The day when all reservations have been confirmed and mileage redeemed will be referred to as the Deadline for Processing Awards
(*2) If a Saturday, Sunday, or U.S. Holiday falls within the 4 days prior to departure, the deadline for processing will be 5 days prior to departure.
(*3) If awards are requested in South America, the deadline will be 12:00 noon Sao Paolo local time.)
(*4) When awards are issued as paper tickets, deadline will be 7 days prior to date of departure.
(*5) If the day prior to departure is a Saturday, Sunday, or U.S. Holiday, the deadline will be the preceeding weekday.
(*6) Depending on the region where the member resides, more than 2 weeks may be required for delivery.

How to Receive Awards

For security reasons, awards must be sent to your e-mail address, fax number or address you have registered at the JMB Center.

[ Flight Award issued as e tickets ]
  • e ticket itinerary/receipt will be sent by e-mail, fax or regular mail.
  • Please present your e ticket itinerary/receipt upon check-in.
[ JAL Group Upgrade Award ]
Upgrade will be arranged at the departure airport on the flight date. When checking in, please mention that you have already requested for an upgrade award, and present your purchased ticket.
[ JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets ]
