How to Request Award

<1>How to Apply
Please call the JMB Center for applying for your award. For JAL Group Airlines International Award Tickets, JAL COUPON Awards and Eurostar Ticket Awards, you can also apply through JAL's Web site by login.

* Award applications cannot be made to JAL Group city ticket offices, JAL airport counters or the JMB Centers in other regions.
* Awards can only be applied for and issued in Europe, Middle East and Africa Region.
* Regardless of who is to use the award, the member himself/herself must apply for the award through the JMB Center. Requests from persons other than the member will not be accepted.
* When applying for an upgrade award, please have your purchased ticket ready.

<2>Deadlines for Award Applications.
In all sections regarding applying and receiving awards, references to minimum/maxium numbers of days required to request awards will not count the day of the request. Please allow sufficient time to apply for your award. Over the Christmas period, the postal system is very busy, so please ensure that any applications for awards to be received before the end of the year reach the JMB Center before 8th December. Please also refer to each of the award pages for more details.

Regular Service
Please apply for your award at last 14 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award except JAL Group Airlines International Upgrade Awards, which can be accepted up to 1200 GMT of the last working day prior to the departure, and JAL Group Domestic Award Tickets, which can be accepted up to the 4th day prior to the date of the departure.

Expedite Service
Award applications requested within 13 days of the date you wish to receive the award can be handled as an expedite service with a fee. No applications can be accepted within 4 working days of the date the award is to be received.

* Online award applications may be subject to different rules and conditions, please refer to online award redemption pages.
* JAL Group International Upgrade Awards can be applied up to 1200 GMT of the last working day prior to the flight departure with no fee for expedite service.
* For JAL Group Domestic Award Tickets, award reservations will be opened 2 months prior to the flight departure and award applications will be accepted up to the 4th day prior to the date of departure with no fee for expedite service.
* For JAL/LAN Joint Award Tickets and LAN Award Tickets, award applications cannot be accepted if the award ticket cannot be issued whitin 72 hours from the time the award application is completed.
* For LTU Award Tickets,award reservations will be opened 65 days prior to the flight departure.
* For Hotel Awards, award reservations will be accepted 6 months prior to the hotel stay and must be made no later than 14 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.
* For Eurostar Ticket Awards, award reservations will be opened 80 days prior to the departure and must be made no later than 14 days prior to tha date you wish to receive the award.
* For JAL COUPON Awards, award applications must be made no later than 14 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.

<3>How to Pay Taxes, Surcharges and Other Charges.
Taxes and charges can be paid by the following credit cards:
JCB, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners

* Some debit cards and charge cards issued in Europe may carry one of the symbols of the above card issuing companies but they have no credit card function and will not be accepted.

How to Receive Awards

Members are offered options of receiving their award such as collection at JAL Group city ticket office, delivery by normal mail or courier, depending on the type of award and the date they apply or their reservation is confirmed. Please refer to the following sections for each award. For the security of our JMB members, if you wish to have your award sent to you, all items sent from the JMB Center can ONLY be mailed to your JMB registered address in Europe, Middle East and Africa Region. Please check the registered address at time of award application and notify the JMB Center promptly of any change of address.

[Award Tickets (except JAL Domestic Award Tickets), Hotel Awards and Eurostar Ticket Awards]

Regular Service (Award applications up to 14 days prior to the date the award is to be received.)
•  Free of charge for normal mail and 1,000 miles or 10GBP if you request your award to be delivered by courier.
•  Collecting awards at JAL Groupe city ticket office.
-  Ticket collection is possible at the following JAL Group city ticket offices during office hours: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Cairo, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Zurich. Collection from JAL General Sales Agents, airport check-in counter, JALPAK and JAL Group city ticket offices other than Europe, Middle East and Africa Region is not possible.
-  JAL Group city ticket offices can be busy at times. Please try to visit us 30 minutes before closing time.
-  If the JMB member is to pick up the award, the member's JMB card or other proof of identification must be shown.
-  If a person other than the JMB member is to pick up the award, proof of identity must be shown along with a letter of authorization signed by the member, specifying the name of the person who is to pick up the award and the name of the person who is to use the award.
•  Hotel Awards and Eurostar Ticket Awards cannot be collected at JAL Group city ticket offices but can only be received by normal mail or courier.
•  Normal Mail is not recommended to in Italy, Russia, Middle East and Africa. Please use the courier service for these areas otherwise JAL is not responsible for undelivered cases.
•  Award applications for Hotel Awards and Eurostar Ticket Awards can only be accepted up to 14 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.
•  Courier service is not available for U.K. residents to receive Eurostar Ticket Awards.

Expedite Service (Between the 13th day and the 5th working day prior to the date the award is to be received.)
•  2,000 miles or 15GBP is required on top of the fee for regular service.
•  Award applications cannot be accepted within 4 working days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.
•  Expedite service for Hotel Awards and Eurostar Ticket Awards are not a vailable.
•  Awards cannot be sent by normal mail.
•  If you have requested your award for delivery/collection on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, it will be delivered/available on the day after the Saturday/Sunday/public holiday.
•  Awards cannot be delivered on Friday in Islamic countries. If you are a resident in CIS countries (except Russia) or in some countries in Africa, please allow plenty of time for the delivery of your award, as it may take longer than 5 working days.

[Award Tickets (Electronic Ticket)]

JL flight tickets between Japan and Amsterdam/Frankfurt/London and tickets for JL operated flights between Japan and Milan/Rome will be issued in e-ticket format. Members will be sent an e-ticket receipt only. For non-European routes, please confirm at the time of reservation if it is eligible for e-ticket.

* e-ticket is not applicable if non-eligible Japan domestic flight sectors or flight sectors of non-eligible other airlines are included in the itinerary, or if the passenger is traveling with infants(Please check at the time of reservation.).

[JAL Group International Upgrade Awards]

Please have your purchased ticket available when applying for an upgrade award. Upgrade awards will be processed at airport check-in. Please bring your purchased ticket to the check-in counter.

* Members are required to pay a surcharge of 20GBP for every upgrade to Executive Class on a Economy Class ticket departing form London because of the higher level of U.K. Departure Tax.

•  Award applications cannot be accepted after 1200GMT of the last working day prior to the departure.

[JAL Group Domestic Award Tickets]

Tickets are not received in advance but at the departure airport in Japan.
Regular Service (Award applications up to the 4th days prior to the date of the departure)
•  Free of charge.
•  The followings are how to receive awards
When one of the travelers is the member who had their mileage deducted from their account for the award(s).
Go to one of automated check-in machines (language is only available in Japanese) at the departure airport in Japan. Push the "Award" button and insert your membership card. The machine will issue the award ticket(s) for all flight sectors. All other passengers traveling with the member can also use the mechines.
* Please note that if you forget to take your membership card with you, your award ticket(s) cannot be issued and the tickets will become void and unusable.

When the member,who had their mileage deducted from their account for the award(s), is not traveling, or when traveling on RAC flights.

Go to a JAL ticket counter at the departure airport in Japan. Mention your reservation confirmation number and present your membership card or proof of identification such as passport or driving license. They will issue the award ticket(s) for all flight sectors.
* Please note that if you forget your reservation confirmation numbers, your award ticket(s) cannot be issued and the tickets will become void and unusable.
* Please advice reservation confirmation numbers to those who are traveling on award tickets.

[JAL COUPON Awards]

Award applications can be accepted up to 14 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.
Regular Service
  • All deliveries will require a signature. The service is free of charge.
  • Award applications cannot be accepted within 13 days prior to the date you wish to receive the award.
  • If the award application is made before/during the Golden Week or New Year's period in Japan, or if the recipient is a resident of CIS countries(excluding Russia) or some countries in Africa, it may take longer than 14 days for the award to reach. Award cannot be delivered on Friday in Islamic countries. Please allow plenty of time for the delivery of your award.
