Japan Airlines to Introduce JAL SKY SUITE 787 (Boeing 787-9) on Boston Route

Enhanced Service includes Fully Flat Seats in Business Class, Premium Economy Class cabin and Spacious Skytrax-awarded Seats in Economy Class

EL SEGUNDO, CA January 20, 2016: As part of a long-term commitment to continually enhance the products and services offered to its customer, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced today that it will introduce the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with the airline's latest three-class cabin interior, called JAL SKY SUITE 787 (SS9), onto its Boston = Tokyo (Narita) route (JL007/JL008) from June 11, 2016*. The route, operated by Japan Airlines, is also a codeshare by fellow oneworld alliance member and Pacific Joint Business partner American Airlines.

*JL007 will start to be operated by SS9 from June 12, 2016.



The JAL SKY SUITE 787 (SS9) is fitted with 44 fully-flat JAL SKY SUITE seats in Business Class and 35 shell-style JAL SKY PREMIUM seats in Premium Economy Class. In Economy Class, 116 JAL SKY WIDER II seats are offered in a comfortable 2-4-2 configuration, and each seat is an approx. 5cm wider with an approx. 5cm more seat pitch than previously available on the route.

JAL SKY SUITE 787 (SS9) With Latest Cabin Interior
Japan Airlines' Boeing 787-9 (SS9) offers the airline's latest inflight products and amenities(*1) including the fully flat JAL SKY SUITE in business class that is arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration and fitted with a large 23-inch TV monitor. Additionally, lavatories throughout the aircraft are equipped with the warm-water Toto Washlet (*2). The SS9 also offers Magic VI in-flight entertainment system with over 300 channels including the latest movies, games, and audio programming.

In-flight Internet Service on JAL International Routes –"JAL SKY Wi-Fi" (Fee Based)
"JAL SKY Wi-Fi" (*3) is scheduled to be available on the Boeing 787-9 (*4) between Boston and Tokyo. JAL customers in every cabin class can send and receive emails, keep up-to-date on their favorite social network sites and more by utilizing their own wireless LAN devices during the flight.
