Japan Airlines is cutting its special discount "Welcome to Japan" fare for overseas visitors by 50 percent during the period of the World Cup soccer tournament. First introduced in 1997, the special JAL fare usually offers domestic flights at the fixed rate of ¥12,600 per sector, including tax. From May 25 until July 5, domestic flight sectors will be ¥6,300. The World Cup tournament starts on May 31 and ends on June 30.
