Otome Road
Going out from the East Exit of Ikebukuro Station, you come to the Sunshine 60 Building. On the West side of the Sunshine 60 Building is Otome Road, nicknamed Girls' Road. On this road, you will find many shops catering for females, featuring anime goods and independent anime magazines crammed along the street.

Sunshine City
Sunshine City is the complex include 5 buildings. (Sunshine60, Shopping center "ALPA", World import mart, Bunka kaikan, and hotel) Observatory is in Sunshine60 as the landmark of Sunshine City. There is 251 meters above sea level, and can watch Mt. Fuji in a fine day.

Sunshine Aquarium
This aquarium is on the 10th floor of the 40 meter high World Import Mart.
The aquarium resumed on August 4, 2011 after the renovation. The concept of new facility is "Oasis in the sky". Performances by sea otters, and penguins and sea lions are scheduled to be held daily.

Ancient Orient Museum
This Museum exhibits many things under the umbrella of Ancient Oriental Culture and includes exhibits on the Mesopotamian Civilization, the Egyptian Civilization, the Iranian Civilization, and the Hellenic Civilization.

Namjatown, an indoor theme park. Shops of gyoza dumplings, ice cream, and desserts are added. Visitors can also enjoy on rainy days because it is an indoor facility.

Department Stores
With the enormous Seibu Department Store at the east exit of JR Ikebukuro station and the similarly large Tobu Department Store at the west exit, shoppers can spend hours of enjoyment simply browsing through the myriad of items on sale in both stores.

Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre
Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre presents quality programs mainly in the fields of music, theatre, opera and dance. The theatre features Concert Hall, which is designed exclusively for classical music presentations and boasts one of the world's largest pipe organs, Playhouse, Theatre East and Theatre West for plays and dance performances. The theatres reopen in September 2012 after a 17-month renovation from April 2011.

Kishimojin (Goddess of children)
When you walk south from the Ikebukuro area you will soon find yourself in the historic area of Zoshigaya. A stroll along streets lined with the houses of a bygone era, small temples and the locally famous Kishimojin Temple provides for a most pleasant experience. The area can also be reached following a short walk from Kishibojin Station on the Toden Street Car Line after passing through an avenue of zelkova trees, many of which are over 400 years old.
