Chureito Pagoda at Arakura Sengen ShrineYamanashi

Of all the fantastic places I've visited in the Mt. Fuji area, the Chureito Pagoda is one of my favorites. It's a really amazing spot, especially for taking photos of the iconic mountain. If you're looking for a relaxing place not too far from Tokyo, this is one you shouldn't miss. The pagoda sits at the top of a mountain in Fujiyoshida. It's part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine complex, and during the short walk from the station you can enjoy glimpses of traditional Japanese rural life.
On the way up, you're treated to some lovely natural scenery and views of Mt. Fuji.
At the halfway point, there's even an observation point for taking pictures — the sweeping vista of the mountain and Fujiyoshida is really impressive. You have to climb about 400 steps to reach the top, but once you get there you can take a seat and relax. And it's another prime spot for snapping photos of the beautiful pagoda with Mt. Fuji in the background.
