Kangen-sai is the biggest annual ritual at Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and is one of the three major ship related religious festivals in Japan alongside the Tenjin Festival in Tenma (Osaka Prefecture) and the Horanenya Festival in Matsue (Shimane Prefecture).
