Things to see

Ports and Port Town

Silver and silver ore from Iwami-Ginzan was shipped from the two ports, and the towns closest to the two ports prospered.
This approximately 7km road, was used when silver and silver ore was shipped from Tomogaura Port.
Okidomari was a port used for the procurement and shipment of silver for the mine for about 40 years in the latter half of the 16th century. Castles on the hills at the edge of the port were constructed for defense of the port.
Yunotsu (Yunotsu Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings)
Yunotsu prospered as the center of Iwami-Ginzan and its surrounding areas since the end of the 16th century. It has hot springs from ancient days. Houses line along a 800m street and the scenery is unchanged since the Edo-era (1603-1867).
